Masterful Care for your Mini Cooper in Chicago, IL

Our team at VFC Engineering takes pride in offering exceptional service for your MINI, honest estimates, and quality OEM parts. Additionally, we stand behind all we do with one of the best warranties in the business - 3 years or 36,000 miles for all repairs.

While European vehicles are known for superb engineering and style, they are also somewhat infamous for their maintenance needs. All automobiles last longer and fare better in general with regular maintenance, but German-engineered cars especially need this added level of attention - and the Mini Cooper is no exception.

The benefit of additional TLC, of course, is that your MINI will run smoother and last a really long time, as well as continue to save you money at the gas pump. At VFC Engineering, we love this about the Mini Cooper. It’s a truly groundbreaking vehicle and will last a lifetime when provided the proper level of care.

The MINI - A Compact Car With a Big Impact

As 1957 post-war fuel prices were soaring, average sedans appeared too luxurious to drive. The Morris Company decided to design a small, fuel-efficient automobile that would still fit a family of four comfortably.

Two important innovations came from this design: wider-set wheels and a sideways-set engine. The result was an affordable, somewhat odd-looking car with a British flair, and it became an immediate hit with young people.

The new design concept also made the MINI a great performance and racing car - which was showcased by British racing legend John Cooper. With just a few adjustments in 1961, a new Mini model was born: the Classic Mini Cooper 997. During the 1960s, Mini pickup trucks and station wagons were also introduced.

In 1999, the classic Mini Cooper won the title “European Car of the Century”, and later, that same year, the modern MINI was born. It went on to win 2003’s “North American Car of the Year” award, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Recommended Routine Maintenance for Your MINI

The human body is a complex collection of high-maintenance systems that require regular check-ups, diagnostic tests, and occasional repairs. As we age, those system checks need to be done more frequently because everything wears down faster. The same goes for your vehicle - the MINI, in particular.

In order to keep your Mini Cooper functioning as it should - running smoothly, efficiently, and reliably - it’s imperative that you keep up with scheduled maintenance services. This includes special services and attention specific to the MINI.

In addition to the regular services all vehicles should receive, we recommend paying particular attention to brakes, air filters, coolant, and the induction system. Any time we service your Mini Cooper, we will check these systems just to make sure they are working properly. If at any time they need servicing  that’s not part of the scheduled service, we will let you know and make recommendations. Suggested items may include any or all of the following:

  • Brake Fluid Flush
  • Cabin Air Filter Replacement
  • Coolant Flushes
  • Engine Air Filter Replacement
  • Induction Cleaning
