Welcome to the VFC racing page. Racing at VFC takes on three forms:
first the cars we build, second the cars we race, and third the cars we support
at the track.
The cars we
build at VFC start as cars just like yours. First we assess the needs of the
owner and the rules of the sanctioning body where the car will compete. If
your car will just be used as a track day car we can do just about anything
you want since there are no real rules to compete under. We will take the
perspective of this: is the car safe for the type of track it will see? Then
create a car that will do what the customer wants. If the car will compete in
SCCA, NASA, PCA Club Racing, BMWCCA Club Racing, or some other sanctioning body,
we will study the rulebook for the class that the customer intends to compete
in and make sure all the modifications will be legal under those rules. Then
discus the modifications with the customer to make sure it will all fit within
their budget, develop a time schedule, and then begin the build process.
Right now
there is only one car we race at VFC. The Fox. Those of you who know me
have all seen the Fox at CVO and NASA events. This is a car that I have
owned since new and has been the test bed for many of the new ideas that
I have dreamed up. For a complete list of the cars current mods click
here.
Finally
there are the customers that we support at the track. We currently sponsor
Mike’s Porsche 911 through our track support program. VFC offers track
day support for the day of your event. We can just be there to help if
you have trouble or we can assist you with the complete set-up of your car.
This includes changing the set-up of your car for the changing conditions
of the track or your tires, repairing broken cars, or just making sure your
car is surviving the rigors of a day at the track. Track day support also
can help in the event that a competition mishap leaves you on the sidelines.
Now we cannot create miracles but there are many things we can do to help
get you back on the track and back in competition. Track day support is dealt
with on a case-by-case basis so please contact us for specific details.
