Kieran
Delaney's 1998 Super Charged Jetta has it all, a little bit of show
and a little bit of go. "I wanted to build something that could
place at shows but also hold it's own not only on the street but
at the track as well." Kieran is well on his way to achieving
that goal. In his first 2 shows out this year he finished with two
First Place trophies.
Kieran
came to VFC with an idea of what he wanted to do with the car and
together we hammered out the details. The car was already well equipped
with front and rear sway bars, front and rear upper strut braces,
upgraded brakes a lowered suspension, a new governing chip, a 2.5"
cat back exhaust and a cold air intake. But it just wasn't going
to cut it on the track or the show circuit. Together we decided
on the addition of a supercharger set up along with upgraded polyurithane
motor mounts and a couple of Autometer gauges to help monitor what
was going on under the hood.
VFC
also did all the wiring for the addition of a speed and remote activated
rear spoiler off of a 1993 Corrado SLC. While the work was being
done under the hood we also decided to go ahead and polish the intake
manifold. Kieran made sure everythingwas cleaned and painted to
his liking and then the polishing began. When the polishing was
finished the entire manifold was treated to a liberal coat of hi-temp
clear coat. The result is an intake manifold that nicely complements
the other polished pieces under the hood.
